I gather that you have been in touch with the artist Cameron Cross about the possible placing of his artwork based on the Sunflowers by Van Gogh at a location in or around Schiphol Airport.
I write simply to confirm that this initiative has my fullest support. Mr. Cross's artwork is both a dramatic new creation and a monumental tribute to Van Gogh and his achievement. The work has the potential to become one of the familiar features in the area around Schiphol and for many visitors arriving and departing from this country, the sight of this artwork could act as both a landmark and a comfort. The motif is easily recognisable and stands not just for Van Gogh but in a way as a landmark for The Netherlands.
I wish you success in your efforts to place this work and stand ready to support this move in any way I can.
